Lockdown

The lockdown has been lifted.   The lockdown was a precaution due to an incident the occurred in Helena. To ensure that the incident in Helena was an isolated event, all schools in the area were placed in lockdown. A deputy and the administration conducted a walk through and verified that there was nothing out of the ordinary to be of any concern. Thank you for your cooperation and if you have any questions, please call the school.

lockdown

As a precautionary measure because of an incident that happened in Helena, Cascade schools are temporarily in lockdown. Lockdown means that no students or staff will be allowed to leave the building. We will inform you in the same manner when the lockdown is lifted. Although not necessary, parents may check out their students in person through the attendance office. School will operate throughout the day as normal. If you have any questions, please call the school. Once again, this is a precautionary measure because of an incident in Helena.

Elementary October Newsletter

October 1, 2019Dear Cascade Families and Community Members,Now that families and teachers have settled into our school routines, it is time to focus on learning!  We are no longer taking MAPs tests, but we are using another testing program called FastBridge. We have used these results of the FastBridge tests to place our students into learning groups for Walk to Read and Walk to Math interventions which best meet their individual needs.Thank you to all who attended the Math Game Night. It was wonderful to see all of the families playing games together and getting to know the teachers and other community members even better. If you were unable to attend, please let us know if you would like a copy of the math games that the teachers prepared. We will be having another family engagement event in the spring and are looking forward to seeing you there. Our parent/teacher conferences will be October 22nd and 24th. The classroom teachers will be sending out P/T conference schedules soon and will do their best to work around your schedules. Please provide them with a couple of workable options as it can be a challenge to schedule everyone in limited time slots.  The conferences are a time for one-on-one conversations with teachers, so please feel free to address your questions/concerns at this time. With the changes in the weather, it is important that our students come to school prepared for a variety of weather conditions.  Unless we experience below zero temperatures or extreme storms, students will go out for recess. Now is also a good time to make sure that children have snow boots, snow pants, hats/hoods, and gloves/mittens on hand. Please note on the attached calendar, that picture retakes are October 14th.  Of course, Halloween is on the 31st. We plan on continuing the tradition of having our costume parade within the school. Please do not send your child(ren) in their costumes. They will have time to change into them before the parade.  Classroom teachers will share information about Halloween parties and our annual parade as the date approaches. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me anytime. I will gladly help in any way I can. Thank you,  Michelle PriceCascade Elementary School Principal (406) 468-9383 ex. 106,  michelle.price@cascade.k12.mt.us
