It's Music Festival time! There are several major purposes to these Music Festivals. Performing, having experts evaluate and teach from that performance, listening to other musicians perform, are all valuable. These happenings present a great opportunity for musicians to learn. All the students will be expected to be on time (or early), dressed appropriately, with all materials needed. Good behavior is also required while at the Festival and anywhere with the school group. Even when not performing, students may not wear grubby clothes, this is a special event and everyone should make an effort to look their best. Students must stay at the sites during the festival. All students who are participating must be on the bus unless parents make arrangements with the teacher. The full bands and choirs will perform on Thursday. Friday is for the solos and ensembles.
Please don't bring things along that are targets to be stolen, we share storage space with other schools.
Our events today are at the University of Providence.
The entire band will be participating today, band members need to wear their dress-up black and white concert attire when we perform.
We will not have a homeroom to store our "stuff". The festival will not allow any stereos with speakers. Please don't bring things that are targets to be stolen. We will be back in Cascade in time for lunch.
Each group will sight-read immediately after their prepared performance.
The bus will load at 7:20 am, leave at 7:30 am, and be back by 11:00 am.

All students participating in a solo or small ensemble will be involved today. The bus will load at noon, and leave Cascade as soon as possible. Eat lunch before we go, supper will be provided. There might be concessions items available at CMR (bring money if you think you'll NEED these snack items). These times are subject to the schedule at the festival and whether the rooms are on time. Students need to arrive at their performance site well before they are scheduled. We will have an area on the upper level of the CMR fieldhouse to store our stuff. All the schools will be sharing this room so don't leave valuables lying around. You are not allowed on the basketball court while we are there.
Each student must make sure the measures are numbered in their music and the music given to the adjudicator, and that no photo-copied music is given to them.
The bus leaves Cascade at 12:10 pm (load at noon). We should be home about 10:30 or 11:00 pm.
