Re: Itinerary
Congratulations again on your selection into the North-Central Montana Honor Choir or Band! It is very gratifying for us as teachers to have students such as yourselves who are excited about music and who have the ambition to audition for, and the talent to get into an honor group such as this.
We will be leaving from the school at about 11:00 Monday morning, November 29th. Students will go to class at the normal time and be dismissed shortly before we leave. We will have lunch on the way. Rehearsals will be at the Choteau High School, phone # 406-466-5503. We are staying overnight at the Stage Stop Inn, phone # 406 466-5900. This information is on the school website in the Band area.

Arrive in Cascade (Of course that depends on the length of the concert and road conditions.....) |
The students need to have their music along; nice school clothes for rehearsals; our formal concert attire for the concert; water bottle; instrument if in band; pencil; normal overnight supplies; warm coat and accessories (it is winter...); a few dollars for incidentals (like snacks) or emergencies (or are snacks emergency items?!?). The registration fees and meals will be paid for, so the students will not need much money. You may not wear hats in the school, and cell phones must be OFF during rehearsals. The motel has a pool so bring a swim suit if you want.
Included with this letter is a form we need to have along with us. There are two purposes to this form.
One, if you have signed it and returned it we know that you (parents) are aware of the trip on which your child is going, and give your permission.
Two, so you are aware of your responsibility to take your child home if they are involved in a major rules infraction. This would be something like possession of or being under the influence of illegal drugs (including alcohol), smoking or chewing tobacco, sneaking away at night, or anything that would potentially endanger the student or their peers. If a student breaks the law while breaking the school policy, you will be able to see the police about taking your child home. (In all the years I've been traveling with students there have only been two times when a parent has been called because of trouble, so I really don't expect we'll need to use this policy.)
In order for a student to go with us on this trip we must have this form completed and returned to us.
There is a school policy regarding alternate transportation. If you plan on attending the concert and wish to bring your child home with you, instead of them riding the bus back home, we need the alternative travel slip signed before you leave the event. Mr. Skogley will have the form available.
This looks like it will be a fantastic experience for the members of the band and choir. If past plans are followed, the concert will be recorded and a link to the performance recording made available. Hopefully, all the information needed has been relayed to you students and parents, but if not, please call or email to find out what you need to know.
