MIOSM Dinner 2024 - Yes, it's time!

It is time for our 14th annual MIOSM (Music In Our Schools Month) fund-raising dinner.

Does a turkey dinner sound good to you?

Is supporting music in our schools a good cause?

Do you like to visit with friends and neighbors in a relaxed atmosphere?

Our annual MIOSM (Music In Our Schools Month) Turkey Dinner will be Thursday, February 29th. Although we are serving the turkey dinner in the cafeteria, we are removing the usual tables and setting up nice tables with regular chairs. Decorations help provide a comfortable feel to the room, and there will be live music to add to the atmosphere. We get comments every year about how nice the atmosphere is for our dinner. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, and cheesecake are on the menu. Ticket prices are listed below. Serving begins at 5:00 pm and continues until 6:30 pm. Proceeds will go to the school music department to make the students' experiences even better. With declining budgets and ever-rising costs, we simply need to raise some money. We understand that people sometimes resent being subjected to a lot of fund-raisers. This is typically our only fundraising event. This dinner seems like a perfect fit of a worthwhile event for community members to attend, and still make money for our music students' benefit. Those who attended in the past have been impressed with the atmosphere and really enjoyed themselves.

Some items high on our wish list of purchases are: replacement of some percussion instruments, new music for large groups and solos / ensembles, updates of music software, and some new instruments. There are items that are wearing out and need replacement before they fail. For example, we have purchased some new solo and ensemble music, new marching percussion, and a new bass amp to replace the ones that were purchased over 20 years ago. We really try to make things last and spend our money wisely.

To get tickets for this dinner, see any music student in grades 5 through 12. You can also buy tickets from the school attendance office, 468-2267, or contact Mr. Skogley. Either leave a phone message or email  .

Following the dinner is our MIOSM Concert at 7:00 pm in the gym. The concert will feature all the bands and choirs from the Cascade School. 

Be sure to stop and look at the art show in the commons during the evening. There will be some wonderful art work from our Cascade students on display.
