TWO CASCADE HS MUSICIANS SELECTED FOR HONOR GROUPS
Jean Blackman and Oliver Wood have been selected, by audition, to participate in some awesome musical groups. We are very proud to have them represent our CHS Music Department! Congratulations to both musicians! Oliver is in the All-State Choir. Jean is in the National FFA Honor Band.
ALL-STATE CHOIR
Cascade High School has a student in an All-State group this year! We are very proud of Oliver Wood for getting into the All-State Choir. Oliver is a senior this year, and is singing bass in the choir. The Festival will take place during the MMEA (Montana Music Educator's Association) convention, October 17-19, 2018, in Missoula. Registration for the students is at 6:00 pm at Hellgate High School. Following that, seating auditions and rehearsals are scheduled.
There will be a treat waiting for the students and music teachers Thursday evening. Every year, the Host Night Concert feature of the MMEA Conference/ Montana All-State Festival provides unique, high quality music performances that enrich, educate and inspire the music students and teachers who attend. This year as part of the host night concert, the "Youngblood Brass Band" will perform for All-State musicians and Montana music teachers.
The All-State groups rehearse Wednesday evening, Thursday, and Friday, then perform Friday night at the DennisonTheater at U of M. This is always an awesome concert, amazing those in attendance with the music our young musicians can produce in just over two days rehearsal time.
