What a whirlwind the first quarter of school has been so far. We have been having so much; fun making time fly by, it is hard to believe we are only 2 weeks away from being a whole quarter into the school year!
In our Elementary, Fa
ll projects are starting to line the hallways. Our K1 students went out and found some great leaves to make “Leaf People”.
Our 1st grade class got to make homemade applesauce!
Our XCELL! after school program has been busy with some STEAM projects.
The fifth grade class has been studying properties of matter in science. They have been learning about the different ways to test properties of matter and how to use that information to identify unknown materials. For a final assessment the class conducted tests on 5 unknown white powders. They used heat, water, vinegar, iodine, as well as observing with the senses. They then compared their observations to a list of known materials and identified the unknown white powders. Everybody enjoyed the hands-on activity.
K1-12 and “Speci
als” Classrooms are getting festive with a door decorating contest! Stay tuned for pictures and updates.
JH Volleyball is wrapping up their season. We hoste the Divisional tournament here in Cascade last weekend. Our girls played hard and came out 2-2 for the tournament. They had a great season, congrats girls. Our FB team is also winding down, we played our last home game on Friday and take to the road the next 2 weeks before their season is finished. I look forward to seeing these young athletes come up the next few years, from what I saw they are extremely talented and all show great sportsmanship. The Varsity football team met Seeley-Swan for Senior night. The Badgers fought for a 32-24 win against the Blackhawks.
The girls celebrated their Senior night Thursday Oct. 13th against GFCC Mustangs.
FFA/BPA students had the opportunity to attend a 3 day communication workshop with Bart Queen. They had a great turn out and learned some awesome skills to bring to competitions.
