Protecting Against Enterovirus D68

PROTECTING OUR STUDENTS AGAINST WIDESPREAD FLU VIRUS Here we go again, another flu season is upon us, and this one may be pretty nasty. There's a new flu virus out there spreading rapidly across the U.S. It's called Enterovirus D68, and it attacks the body's respiratory system with flu-like symptoms that can be quite severe. Here's what we can all do to help against the spread of the flu and EV-D68: Practice good hygiene when you're sick, cover your cough, wash your hands with soap and water, be considerate of others and keep kids home if they are sick, especially with flu symptoms and severe respiratory illness. We don't want flu to be spread at school. We want all our students, and staff, to be healthy, especially at school. Students suffering severe respiratory illness, especially with EV-D68 now confirmed in the county, should seek medical treatment immediately. We won't mind their absence from school, we want them here safe and healthy.
