KRTV Field Trip

Twenty Cascade HS students from the TV Media and BPA classes took a Field Trip to the KRTV News studio Wednesday as part of their familiarization with television production. Work on our own TV studio is coming along nicely and we hope to start creating some projects soon. We're still working with Charter Media in St. Louis to connect to the local cable channels so we can broadcast to the town and to our own classrooms. The class is taught by Mrs. McGonigal, who's husband Tim is the Lead Anchor at KRTV. Technical Coordinator Dave Dobbins went along to recruit some support figuring out how the wires in our own studio get connected.

ANNUAL HEARING SCREENINGS

ANNUAL HEARING SCREENINGS   During the month of October, annual hearing screenings will be conducted for all Kindergarten, First Grade, and 9th Grade students.    Any student that is new to the district will also be screened during this time.   Our Audiologist will be asked to see students with known hearing losses, and those that fail the screening.    If this applies to your child and if you wish to decline the hearing screening for any reason, please notify Kim McCann using the contact information below.    Hearing screenings may also be conducted for your child at any time upon request, regardless of age or grade. Please make requests known to your child’s teacher.   Thank you,   Kim McCann, M.A., CCC-SLP kim.mccann@nclearning.org 406-468-2671 ext. 152   American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Member

School Funding Interim Commission

Helena Independent Record – August 22, 2015 A committee that will examine Montana's public school funding system has set up an Internet survey so people can share their concerns and ideas with the group. "This will allow people to give the commission some direction about where to put our effort," Sen. Tom Facey, D-Missoula, said.  The commission is comprised of a dozen legislators and four public members. It fulfills a legislative requirement that a group meets every 10 years to assess the state's educational needs and costs.  The survey is five questions long and is open through Sept. 9. It can be accessed at www.surveymonkey.com/r/MT_SFIC_2015 or by visiting the School Funding Interim Commission page on the Montana Legislature website.
