MHSA ANNOUNCEMENT

MHSA AnnouncementThe Montana High School Association Executive Board, during a meeting on September 2, 2020, discussed the numerous reports that have been submitted regarding schools violating the MHSA COVID-19 requirements.  The majority of those are mask violations by coaches and substitute players.    The Board appreciates that most of our schools are complying with the requirements and considerations.   Also, the Board understands that there are differing opinions on certain requirements, however, these requirements were put in place to minimize the possibility of transmission of the virus to assure fall sports can proceed.  We all must do our part and follow these restrictions whether we agree with them or not, to allow what is most important - the opportunity for our student-athletes to participate, and participate as safely as possible.   If we work together, we will be able to continue and complete our fall sports seasons.   It would be unfortunate for a few programs to jeopardize all of our member school’s opportunity to participate because of non-compliance.With that in mind, the Executive Board approved the following, effective immediately:After a report of a violation(s) by a team is verified, that school’s specific program will be suspended until a corrective action plan is submitted to the Executive Director by the administration on how the school will ensure future compliance with all MHSA COVID-19 requirements.   The program can resume participation after the plan is approved by the Executive Director.Remember that masks are required at all sporting events to protect your children and our students. Cascade Public Schools asks you to:MASK UPSo we can:KEEP OUR STUDENTS IN SCHOOLKEEP OUR STUDENTS PLAYING VOLLEYBALLKEEP OUR STUDENTS PLAYING FOOTBALLPLEASE WEAR YOUR MASK AT ALL GAMES!And remember that our staff cares about our students. They don't make the rules. They just enforce the restrictions. Please treat them respectfully.
