I wanted to make you aware of the steps the district is taking to protect our students and staff.  Once the district recognized the explosion in COVID cases in the county and became aware that the Cascade County Health Department was overwhelmed with positive cases, the district began to come up with solutions to meet the need to contact trace COVID cases.

Two of the district's administrators are now trained in conducting contact tracing and advising individuals concerning infections and exposure.

Contact tracing helps slow the spread of COVID by identifying people who have been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID.  Direct contact is identified as being within 6 feet of an infected individual for 15 minutes or more while the person has symptoms or within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms.

The district also tries to inform families if they have been in indirect contact with an individual who may have COVID symptoms. This means that an individual was outside of the 48-hour window of the onset of symptoms or was within 6 feet of a person with symptoms for a short amount of time.

We are trying to keep everyone associated with the school as informed as possible and still protect the privacy of our staff and students.

Please help us track possible COVID cases by informing our principals if any families of students have an isolated or quarantined individual. Also, let us know if anyone has been tested and the results of the test.

Help us keep the staff and students safe while still keeping our school open.

If you have any questions or need advice on what to do, please feel free to contact us.
