Cascade Schools will be practicing a Lock Down drill today beginning at 2pm and lasting about 15 minutes. After the Lock Down alarm is sounded, teachers will lock/close their classroom doors and assemble students in their seats or on the floor and urge them to be quiet so any noises heard throughout the building can be reported to school officials or emergency responders. At a slightly lower alert level, for your information, a Shelter-in-Place will also lock all classroom doors, but continue instruction with no personnel moving around the building. In either case, outer doors will remain closed and locked during the drill, and no one except for emergency responders will be allowed into the building until the all clear is given. We want our students to be aware, and be prepared to deal with emergencies at school. Staff will continue emergency response preparations on Friday, our P I R (non-student) day, when members of Cascade County Sheriffs Office will be on site for training. If you have an inquiry, please contact the Safety Officer, Mr. Sukut, at the school. Thank you.
