School Accountability/Student Accountability
Throughout Montana and the Nation, March happens to be the month when a lot of student assessments begin. At Cascade School, we are no different. You will see on our school calendar that we are going to start with the Science portion of the CRT. This state test is only for grades 4, 8 and 10. The test consists of 3 sections, about 20-25 questions in each. The students will probably be done with all three sections within 2-one hour slots. We have also listed the SBAC state test and the grades that will be testing on certain days. This test is for 3rd-8th grade and 11th grade. Note that the students only test for about one hour each day during their testing week. We encourage students to get a good night sleep, eat a nutritious breakfast and be at school on time. We will start the testing hour first thing when kids are their freshest.
MAP testing follows during the last week in April and the first two weeks in May. This is the end of the year test that is given to show the progress and growth of each of our students. The test consists of 2 sections: reading and math. Both tests are about 45-60 minutes each. So, even though the window of testing is long, each student will only be testing for a few hours, a couple of days.
We look forward to celebrating with our students, all of the hard work they’ve done this year that has led to their continued growth!!
