DISTRICT MUSIC FESTIVAL IS THIS WEEK!!

The Cascade High School music students will be participating in the annual District Music Festival this coming Thursday and Friday, April 7 and 8 in Great Falls. The high school band will travel to the new Student Center at UP Thursday morning and play a couple of prepared pieces for a group of 3 adjudicators (think judges) for ratings and then play a sight-reading piece (one the band members have not seen before), also for a rating. This group has been working hard on their prepared pieces and they practice sight reading almost every day in band, as well. You are welcome to come and listen to the prepared pieces, but must leave for the sight reading piece. Good luck to them all!

Friday afternoon, the students in band who have chosen to play in a small group, jazz band, or solo will travel to Great Falls, CM Russell High School, to play for adjudication. These performances are open to the public for listening as well. You will be treated to some awesome students playing their best! Good luck to all these students as well!

We will post the results soon after the event, and then on to State Music Festival in Helena on May 6 and 7, for those who earned a Superior rating at the District Music Festival!

Just a reminder, our Spring Music Concert and Art Gala is on Thursday, May 12 in the North gym. You won't want to miss this one!!
