CHROMEBOOK INFO:
Attention Chromebook Users:
Your Chromebooks are for school use only. No games, no off-task activity. Some are abusing this privilege, and this activity is outside the intended purpose of the Chromebooks. Chromebooks may be confiscated for a period of time, and discipline issued. Proper use of the Chromebook is your responsibility. Don't ruin it for you or your classmates. We're watching even closer this year, thanks to the GoGuardian app.
If you leave your Chromebook unattended, and a staff member turns it in, you will be assigned detention(s) for your negligence. Chromebooks are being left unattended in classrooms, hallways, Commons, and Gyms. Please take good care of your Chromebooks by not leaving them lying around.
Here are some tips to help you care for your Chromebook, and make it last a long time.
1. Avoid touching the screen. If squeezed, it may crack.
2. When you pickup up the Chromebook, pick it up with two hands by the base.
3. Be careful with the power connector. Don't transport the Chromebook with the power connector attached.
4. Keep the keyboard clean and free from food, snacks, and drink.
5. When the Chromebook camera is activated, a blue light will show.
6. The Chromebook isn't a toy. It's a valuable piece of technology equipment that you are responsible for. Treat it carefully, and it will last a long time.
7. If it's damaged, lost, or stolen, you must report that to Mr. Dobbins immediately. If you were negligent in it's loss, damage, or theft, you may be held financially responsible to repair or replace it.
8. A Technology Fee of $20/year has been implemented. This is required by all students, with a few exceptions for families who are financially unable to pay. If enrolled in free/reduced lunch program, those families may be exempt from the fee. A form must be filed.
9. The Chromebooks are allowed to be taken home only providing the Technology Fee has been paid. Students who have not paid the Technology Fee must leave their Chromebooks at school. You may not take them anywhere else without prior approval of the Technology Coordinator.
